How do you say goodbye to an old web site?

After 14+ years, my first web site, the Callaway County Information Site, is going away. The web archive wayback machine has a copy dated September, 1998, but it was online much earlier as a text only site. The site was originally hosted by COIN, the Columbia Online Information Network. COIN was one of the first community supported networks that provided both server space and dial up connections to three counties in Central Missouri. In recent years, the Daniel Boone Regional Library has hosted Callaway. But now, Callaway information will be integrated into dbrl.org and callaway.county.missouri.org will cease to exist.

I admit to feeling a little nostalgic. Years of my life and mountains of effort went into finding information, designing, and maintaining the Callaway site. For years I worked constantly trying to keep up with the technology: as soon as I mastered one kind of software, another "must do" popped up in its place.
